Measurement Guide

Things to keep in mind:
  • Mydress4less does not take responsibility for the size ordered or the measurements taken. The customer is responsible for the size they order.
  • Designers use the English Standard System for all measurements and sizes. If you need your size converted please email us at mydress4less@hotmail.com.

We recommend you have the professional seamstress who will alter your gown take your measurements for you. Use a vinyl tape-measure; fabric ones tend to stretch over time and your dress will be ordered too small. When you measure, wear shoes with a heel height similar to what you plan to wear on your wedding day, wear a similar bra or bustier and, if you need to, wear a similar petticoat. If you feel as though you may need help, please call us at 508-595-0400.

Bust: Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your breast. Make sure your arms are relaxed. This is not necessarily your bra size.

Hollow to Hem: Start the tape at the hollow at the base of your neck and measure down to where you want the hem to be. If your skirt will be full, be sure to measure out at an angle to allow for the fullness. Please try to make sure you are wearing a similar heel as you would on your special day.
Natural Waist: This is the smallest part of your waist. It is usually approx. 1” above your belly button.
Hips: Measure across the hip bone, the widest part of your hips.
